Cheyenne Professional Wins Logo Design Contest

(Cheyenne) – The Wyoming Brewers Festival, presented by Midas, unveiled a new logo today, designed by Cheyenne resident Grant Gering. The logo was chosen by the Wyoming Brewers Festival Committee from over 20 entries in a contest.

The committee liked the way the logo incorporated the historic Union Pacific Depot, the iconic Wyoming Buffalo and beer mug into one. Marketing co-chair Monica Taylor-Lee mentioned that the “hidden imagery” was something used in a lot of the logo designs, but the winning logo pulled all of the aspects of the festival together the best.

In being chosen as the winner, Gering will receive a $100 cash prize, tickets to the event, an invitation to the pre-festival sponsor dinner and is named as an honorary chair for the 20th anniversary event.

Grant Gering is the Senior Multimedia Specialist at the Wyoming Business Council in Cheyenne.  He is a 2004 East High graduate who went on to play baseball and study graphic design in college. Taylor-Lee complemented his work noting, “It is great to see the response we had from Wyoming’s professional community. To see a young professional win the contest speaks to the great talent we have here in the community.”

The logo will become the new permanent logo for the festival and will be featured on merchandise, promotional materials and prominently in all Wyoming Brewers Festival media.

The Wyoming Brewers Festival is June 19th and 20th in the Depot Plaza in downtown Cheyenne, WY. Proceeds from the festival go to support ongoing special projects at the Cheyenne Depot Museum. The festival promotes the growing craft beer culture in the west and celebrates brewers and their products.

“Home brewing gets to the very foundation of our Festival’s existence:  sharing a love and passion for craft beer,” said Dave Haring, Event Chair.  “After experiencing the outstanding talent in last year’s competition, the entire committee was excited to see what this year would bring and Cheyenne’s home brewing community certainly did not disappoint.  On behalf of the Wyoming Brewer’s Festival Committee, we thank all of this year’s brewers for their efforts, we thank Jared Long with Altitude Brewery for lending his expertise, and we congratulate Shawn for creating a great tasting beer with a style all its own.”

"I feel very honored being involved in this competition,” said Miller.  The beers from the other competitors were phenomenal!  I also want to thank Alitude Chop House & Brewery for the opportunity to brew a beer for the Wyoming Brewer’s Festival; representing all the home brewers out there with the same passion....beer!"

Shawn not only has the opportunity to assist in the brewing process at Altitude, he will also receive 2 tickets to Brewfest on June 20.
